Why are kitten vaccinations important?
Vaccinations help to protect your kitten from severe infectious diseases. It also stops them from passing dangerous infections to other cats. You should keep your kitten inside until it has been fully vaccinated.

When should kittens be vaccinated?

At nine weeks old - kittens should have their first set of vaccinations (Primary)
At 12 weeks old – Kittens need a second set of vaccinations for boosting their immune system.

How often should kittens be vaccinated after the initial innoculations?
We recommend that kittens will need ‘booster’ vaccinations every 12 months

Which diseases do vaccinations protect against?
Kitten inoculations are designed to give protection against
• Cat flu (feline herpes virus and feline calicivirus)
• Feline infectious enteritis
• Feline leukaemia virus

Who will vaccinate my kitten?
Only a healthy kitten should be vaccinated so they receive a full health check by a veterinary surgeon prior to vaccination. In the case of a primary course where two injections are needed, a qualified veterinary Nurse can administer the second vaccination.
When you get your kitten, one of the first things you should do is register them with a local vet who will be able to carry out the vaccinations your kitten needs.

How much does it cost for kitten vaccinations?
Prices can vary and will depend on which vaccinations your kitten receives. We have health care plan plans for kittens. This means you can spread the cost of preventative vet treatments such as regular health checks, annual vaccinations and flea and worm treatments.
Primary kitten vaccinations start from £75.00 for indoor cats and £100.00 for outdoor cats which require greater protection
Booster cat vaccinations start from £42.00

What do I do about vaccinations if my kitten was a stray ?
If your kitten’s vaccination status is unknown we recommend restarting with a full vaccination course.

What happens about vaccinations if my kitten is from a rescue centre ?
If you have adopted a kitten from a charity, they have often been vaccinated before you take them home. However, some kittens are rehomed before they are ready for their second set of vaccinations – so it is always best to check and ask for the vaccination documentation. Please bring in your vaccination card and we will be able to advise which, if any, vaccinations are required.

What documentation do I need if my kitten has already been inoculated ?
Ask for your kittens vaccination records so you can take them to your vet when they are due their annual health check booster vaccination – and you can make a note of the anniversary on your calendar or in your diary!

When can I get my kitten vaccinated ?
We offer kitten vaccinations from 8.00 am to 6.30 pm Monday – Friday and at weekends.
