Why are dog vaccinations important?
Vaccination plays a vital role in protecting your dog from major canine infectious diseases. These include viral and bacterial diseases. All canine vaccines authorised for use in the UK have met strict quality, safety and effectiveness standards. All pets are given a full health check at the time of vaccination as only a healthy dog should be vaccinated so a health check is needed prior to vaccination. Usually, a veterinary surgeon will administer the vaccination. Where two injections are needed, a qualified Veterinary Nurse can administer the second vaccination.

How old does my dog need be vaccinated?
Dogs should be vaccinated from nine weeks old onwards with a second vaccination given 4 weeks later. (See here for Puppy Vaccination (LINK information).
Although getting your dog vaccinated when it is very young is very important – it is equally important to keep your dog vaccinated throughout its life.
How often should dogs be vaccinated after their first inoculations?
We recommend that dogs receive a ‘booster’ vaccinations every 12 months.
Which vaccinations does my dog need?
Canine vaccines are available the following diseases:

• Canine Distemper Virus (CDV)
• Canine Parvovirus (CPV)
• Canine Adenovirus (CAV)
• Canine Leptospira
• Canine parainfluenza virus (CPi)
• Bordetella bronchiseptica (Kennel Cough)
• Canine Rabies

The primary dog inoculations we administer cover:

• Canine Distemper Virus (CDV)
• Canine Parvovirus (CPV)
• Canine Adenovirus (CAV)
• Canine Leptospira

Yearly dog booster vaccinations
These will vary year on year as some vaccinations offer longer protection than others. Leptospirosis vaccination is required annually.

Rabies vaccination
This is not required in the UK and is only needed if you wish to take your pet abroad.
We offer a pet passport service for pets travelling to Europe. 

Kennel cough
Kennel cough vaccinations can be administered separately or in conjunction with other dog vaccines. We recommend these vaccination if dogs are going into kennels or if they meet lots of other dogs in the park.

What is the cost of adult dog vaccinations?
The price of health check and primary dog vaccinations is £100.00 for the 2 sets of injections which are administered 4 weeks apart.
Yearly dog health check and booster vaccination price is: £ £60.00
Kennel Cough vaccination prices are from £43.32.45 (£43.32 if a solo vaccination)

What happens if my dog is a rescue dog?
If you adopt a dog from a charity, they are often vaccinated before you take them home. Always check with the charity and ask for the vaccination documentation. If your dog’s vaccination status is unknown we recommend restarting with a full vaccination course.
What documentation do I need if my dog has already been inoculated ?
Ask for your pet’s vaccination records so you can take them to your vet when they are due their annual vaccination – and you can make a note of the anniversary on your calendar or in your diary!

When can I get my dog vaccinated ?
We offer dog vaccinations from 8.00 am to 6.30 pm Monday – Friday and at weekends.
