The RVC Contract Research Unit provides services for the production of antisera to support the delivery and development of human and animal healthcare products nationally and internationally.

All antisera production is performed in accordance with the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 minimum severity guidelines for antibody production.

Standard Operating Procedures are followed to optimise animal handling and housing conditions, thereby minimising animal stress which might otherwise have a negative effect on antibody production.
