1. Saturated
sugar solution
Specific gravity: 1.27
This solution should be used if the eggs are
required for culturing as it has little effect on their viability.
Sugar (sucrose): 454 grams
Water: 355 ml
Add sugar to the water until saturated.
- Stir solution well before using.
- Saturation is indicated by the presence of sugar crystals
at the bottom of the container after stirring for 15 minutes.
- To prevent the growth of mould approximately 2ml of 37% formaldehyde
can be added.
