“I completed my sandwich placement year at 3A
FRONTIER – THE SOCIETY FOR Laboratories. It is a small biotech start-up and is part of the
ENVIRONMENTAL EXPLORATION RVC’s London BioScience Innovation Centre. I spent a year
GFK. GROWTH FROM KNOWLEDGE at the forefront of cancer research and development. It was
a unique opportunity to build upon things I had learnt in my
GLAXOSMITHKLINE course so far, and to go above and beyond in my practical
IQUR techniques. I built confidence in techniques that many would
only learn after they graduate. The company created a unique
LIFEARC
environment for me to grow, be curious and learn more about
LUMORA LTD science in methods you cannot in a classroom.
NATIONAL ZOOLOGICAL GARDENS
OF SOUTH AFRICA I gained a wide variety of skills across a range of different
aspects, within the lab and professionally such as
NOVARTIS, USA communication, teamwork and organisational skills. These
PERHENTIAN TURTLE PROJECT were all transferable skills that allowed me to go into my final
THE PIRBRIGHT INSTITUTE year with confidence and better equipped for the assignments
and the science. Also, the practical knowledge I had gained
RSPCA ASSURED in my placement year gave me a better understanding of
UNIVERSITY COLLEGE LONDON concepts taught in the course. I definitely felt my placement
