VINNIE’S STORY
Stuart and the family now feed Vinnie
smaller meals at set times throughout the
day in an upright position. He is gaining
weight and we very much hope he will
continue responding well to his medication.
Stuart explains,
“Vinnie has adapted to it really
well. While progress is slow, his
personality is returning. Vinnie is
truly a member of our family and
we were so glad to get him home.”
Since the machine’s installation in February
2022, the Neurology Team have performed
12 studies on clinical patients, enabling them
to effectively diagnose and manage an array
of neuromuscular diseases. Abbe explains,
“The Neurogen Tru Trace
electrodiagnostics machine is a key
addition to our neurology service,
supporting our clinical and research
abilities. With this device, we can
continue to provide state-of-the-art
care for our patients.”
Could your cat be
a lifesaver? The RVC’s Blood Transfusion Team
needs more feline blood donors.
Our blood donor superheroes give blood in a relaxed and
friendly environment in the Small Animal Referral Hospital
at our Hawkshead campus in Hertfordshire. Often referred
to as ‘cat whisperers’, the RVC’s blood donor nurses give
donors lots of cuddles, putting them at ease and making
it a positive experience. Pets receive a free health check
and heart scan before joining. If your cat:
• is aged between 1-10 years old
• weighs over 4kgs
• is healthy and on no medication other than routine
vaccinations and anti-flea/worm treatment
• has not received a blood transfusion
• has not travelled abroad
• is friendly and comfortable with people
please consider emailing the team at
Theo, chilling out in his ACT funded kennel, blooddonor@rvc.ac.uk or call 01707 666511 to find
during his blood donation appointment. out more. THANK YOU.
