                  REUNIONS
RVC Annual Reunion Day
On Saturday 12th October 2019, we warmly welcomed back to Hawkshead some of our alumni, most of whom were celebrating an anniversary year.
We were delighted that so many of you came along, with over 150 alumni in attendance, ranging from a 1949 graduate to more recent years. We especially had alumni from 1969, 1989, 1999 and 2009, who spent the day on campus with us and then continued with evening celebrations of their own.
The afternoon started with Stuart Reid, Principal, welcoming our guests and updating them on developments at the College. Lunch and tours of the campus by our student ambassadors followed. The day ended with tea and cake and/or a nostalgic pint in the Buttery and restaurant.
Thank you to everyone who came along.

2004 BVetMed graduates
Liz Munro (2004)
2019 marks 20 years since our year started our BVetMed degree, and 15 years since we graduated. In that time some of us have kept in touch with each other, mostly via Facebook, and some in person, but we hadn’t had a real reunion in 10 years.
We approached the Alumni Relations team to see
if we could return to the Camden Campus for
a tour, to see how it had changed since we had been there, and were very pleased when they said yes!
About 20 of our class met at Camden on the Saturday morning, many of us bringing partners and kids. We were able to tour the Camden Campus and the Beaumont Sainsbury Hospital
for Animals, both of which have been transformed beyond recognition.
We were very impressed to see the many facilities for both students and staff, to not only improve the resources for study, but those for recreation and health. A few small areas have stayed the same, which brought back some memories among us.

Afterwards we went to Regents Park, where we picnicked whilst the children played. It was a great time to be able to catch up with each other, and discover the different paths our careers and personal lives have taken since graduation.
In the evening, we had a ‘grown ups’ event at FEST Camden, where we enjoyed dinner, cabaret and then a club evening, which also coincided with Pride celebrations.
We were all so glad we were able to organise this, and even more pleased that the RVC Alumni Relations team were able to facilitate our visit to Camden – something we really enjoyed and are extremely grateful for. The feedback I have received is that everyone really enjoyed the day, and that we shouldn’t wait another ten years for the next one!
If you are considering organising
a reunion for your year group, don’t forget we have our Annual Reunion every October! But we are also happy to help with any other plans, as we did for the 2004 year group, so please do get in touch at development@rvc.ac.uk
