Urban Zoonosis Meeting
RVC researchers, Dr Barbara Haesler, Dr Paula Domínguez-Salas, Dr Pablo Alarcon, Ms Maud Carron and Professor Jonathan Rushton, attended the third annual meeting of the Urban Zoonosis Project that was held on the 11-12 of November at the London campus of University of Liverpool.
The project aims to investigate the mechanisms leading to the emergence of zoonosis in urban and peri-urban areas of Nairobi. During the meeting the preliminary results of the livestock value chain analysis were presented. Initial results from the nutritional survey conducted in low income areas of Nairobi were also presented. The project will soon start the biological sampling stage of the Nairobi households, its urban livestock and its food system.
