Volunteering for the ACT could help you to develop existing skills and gain new ones, meet new people, have fun and do something that is both challenging and rewarding.

Give the ACT the gift of your time by helping us with organising events in your local area or by coming into our Hertfordshire office to support us with our administration and research.

Admin Support Volunteers

Our team of admin support volunteers really do help to keep the ACT fundraising activities running smoothly by assisting with tasks such as:

  • Internet research – researching companies for potential sponsorship and collaboration opportunities
  • Database administration – ensuring our database is kept up to date so that we can efficiently communicate with our supporters.
  • Recycling scheme – assisting with the execution of our recycling scheme.
  • Mailing support – mail merging and printing letters and stuffing envelopes.
  • Christmas catalogue fulfilment - processing and packing orders for our customers.

What's it like being an ACT volunteer?

"I have really enjoyed my time volunteering for the Animal Care Trust.  The office is very friendly and supportive and I am enjoying knowing that the help I am giving is supporting the ACT to raise funds for the Royal Veterinary College which help so many animals, including my own in the past for which I was very grateful."

Geraldine Kemp, Admin Support Volunteer

"It is lovely to be able to do something different and enjoyable for a few hours a week in a warm, friendly office environment. I enjoy being part of a forward thinking team and I hope to take an active part in manning a stall or helping out at one of the forthcoming events. I enjoy developing and learning new skills. I always have a smile on my face when I come to work knowing that I am able to contribute to the worthwhile work of the ACT in this small way."

Jo Sperring, Admin Support Volunteer

To say thank you to our volunteers for their invaluable help, we also hold outings for volunteers and their families and present awards to recognise their efforts.
