We are excited to welcome Megan Conroy to the VetCompass team.

Megan obtained her Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery from the University of Edinburgh in 2010. She worked initially in first opinion mixed practice before moving into small animal work. She obtained her MSc in Veterinary Epidemiology in 2015 from the RVC and LSHTM and now joins us to conduct research, as part of her Master of Research degree studies, on chronic kidney disease in cats.

The project is funded by Ceva Animal Health, and Megan aims to estimate the prevalence of chronic kidney disease in cats attending VetCompass practices in the UK. Megan also aims to explore the risk factors involved in its development, and the survival statistics of cats suffering from chronic kidney disease. A further project will identify the prevalence of hypertension in cats in the UK, and describe current practices for measuring blood pressure in cats. Her supervisors for this are Dr David Brodbelt and Professor Jonathan Elliott.

Further information about Megan's project can be found on the project page: Chronic Kidney Disease in cats attending UK practices.
