VetCompass™ awarded at BSAVA 2019
The Blaine Award (sponsored by Royal Canin) awarded to Dr Dan O'Neill for the contribution of VetCompass™ to the advancement of small animal science in its widest context.
Dr Dan O’Neill MVB BSc(hons) GPCert(SAP) GPCert(FelP) GPCert(Derm) GPCert(B&PS) MSc(VetEpi) PhD FRCV
Dan O’Neill graduated from Dublin in 1987 and then ran his own companion animal practice in Kent until 2009. Frustrated with the lack of good quality practice-based evidence, he undertook an MSc and a PhD in veterinary epidemiology at the RVC to develop VetCompass™. Dan is now Senior Lecturer in Companion Animal Epidemiology at the RVC.
Dan has authored over 45 VetCompass™ papers since 2012 to provide evidence relevant to UK veterinary practitioners and co-authored the 3rd edition of the book ‘Breed Predispositions to Disease in Dogs and Cats’. He chairs the Brachycephalic Working Group and is an Associate Editor of JSAP.
