We are excited to announce the launch of an exciting new project - Equine VetCompass

So far, since the start of VetCompass in 2009, our research has been primarily focused on small animal health and welfare, with data collected from small animal veterinary practices.  With the launch of Equine VetCompass, we are expanding our research interests to include horse health and welfare. Equine VetCompass will collect data from first-opinion equine veterinary practice to survey the top health conditions affecting horses in the UK.

The research will be conducted by Sarah Allen, as part of her PhD research programme. Sarah is supervised by Drs. Kristien Verheyen, David Brodbelt and Professor. Josh Slater. The project has received funding from the RVC Mellon Fund for Equine Research and RCVS Knowledge.

More information about the research project, and updates on our progress throughout 2016 can be found on the research project page, here: http://www.rvc.ac.uk/vetcompass/projects/vetcompass-equine
