Over £700,000 has been spent on new life-saving equipment for our animal hospitals this year, thanks to kind donations to the ACT and purchases of our products. Intensive Care, Cardiology, Dentistry, Equine Practice Diagnostics and the QMHA Pain Clinic have all bene tted, as well as our Equine Research Team looking at Atypical Myopathy, a fatal disease affecting hundreds of horses in the UK. Here are just a few examples of what you’ve helped to fund:
an ultrasound machine for the Queen
Mother Hospital for Animals (QMHA), which will improve the diagnostic capabilities of many of the hospitals’ specialist teams and help animals get the treatment they need more quickly.
a uoroscopy unit for the QMHA which allows movement of internal organs to be seen in detail. This bene ts our patients with serious heart and liver problems. Our world-leading soft tissue service is a centre of excellence for treating liver shunts in the UK and Europe and this equipment will allow them to help more suffering animals.
a lameness detection teaching tool. Lameness is the most common complaint in horses, so accuracy in diagnosing the location and severity of lameness is an important skill. Have a go on the tool yourself at www.lamenesstrainer.com!
a range of dentistry equipment for a new dental referral service, including a dental x-ray machine.
It is estimated that over 80% of dogs and 70% of cats require immediate dental care. By investing
in our new dentistry service we can best serve animals in need of dental treatment across London and the South East.

Leftover foreign currency from your summer holiday, as well as stamps from Christmas cards you receive, can raise much-needed funds for our work. Through recycling your coins and stamps you’ll be helping sick and injured animals, as well as the environment!
