Dr Reshma Bijlani
BVetMed

Dr Bijlani studied at the RVC in 2004 and graduated in 2009. She talks about how the variety of study methods at the RVC prepared her for the varied role of being a veterinarian.

She chose the RVC over a number of American schools as we are American, European and Asian accredited which allowed her to live internationally. After graduating she worked in India and then New York.

"The RVC prepared for me exactly what the veterinary world would be like".

Sean Sum
BVetMed

Sean Sum graduated from the RVC in 2021. He is currently working as an official veterinarian in the Animal and Veterinary Service at the National Parks Board in Singapore.

He talks about his varied role and how the focus on professional studies and ethical frameworks at the RVC helped him prepare for it.

"The RVC has provided me with an unwavering foundation to build my career upon".

Annabelle Loustric
BSc Bioveterinary Sciences/BVetMed

Annabelle is currently working in Calgary in Canada at an emergency veterinary hospital.

She studied Bioveterinary Sciences and then Accelerated BVetMed and benefited from working at the Queen Mother Hospital For Animals as experience for working in first opinion practice.

"(The RVC) gave us lots of opportunity in different aspects of veterinary medicine, research as well, so then we can tailor our career towards what we are interested in, what we are passionate about".

Dr Jason Nicholas
BVetMed

Dr Jason Nicholas graduated from the RVC in 2004. He went on to found Preventive Vet, a company helping educate pet owners on keeping their pets happy and healthy.

He talks about how the education he received helped him in his work, and how the RVC helps to bring together students from all over the world.

"I thought BVetMed was going to be all clinical work, and I've done more than my fair share of that, but I've taken a different direction. That to me is one of the beautiful things about the veterinary education, that there are so many different ways you can utilize it.".

Hayley Frear
BVetMed

Hayley graduated from BVetMed in 2022 and is going on to work in mixed practice.

Hayley explains how the RVC prepared her for her career.

"I think the RVC prepared me for the world of work specifically in the last year, when we were doing our rotations. I think that was a real eye opener because they tried to prepare us in a way that allowed us to see what it would be like to do the job".

Tyler-Jay McIntosh
Bioveterinary Sciences

Tyler graduated from the RVC in 2021 with a degree in Bioveterinary Sciences. He then immediately returned to study Veterinary Medicine!

His plan is to focus on One Health, in which the RVC has a lot of expertise.

"I chose to study at the RVC because it was showing a good interface between human and animal sciences".

Dr Eleanor Karp-Tatham
PhD

Dr Eleanor Karp-Tatham graduated in 2021 after doing a PhD with us.

She has now gone on to work with Oxford University on their COVID-19 project.

"I came to choose to study at the RVC because of its great reputation, supervisors I studied under were all excellent".

Dr Tyler Clough
BVetMed

Dr Clough studied at the RVC in 2010 and graduated in 2015.

They have gone on to an internship in New York, and are now doing a residency specialising in surgery.

"I chose being a vet because I knew it was a career that would challenge me".

Clare-Louise Blaxill
Veterinary Nursing

Clare-Louise Blaxill completed her foundation degree in Veterinary Nursing in 2020.

She has gone on to work at the small animal practice where she did her placements.

"The facilities are fantastic and I really felt a connection from the minute I set foot onto campus".

Dr John Gorzynski
BVetMed

Dr Gorzynski studied at the RVC in 2011 and graduated in 2015.

He talks about how studying at the RVC helped him in his career as a clinician and surgeon before deciding to become a PhD Student.

"Absolutely the RVC has prepared me for my career. We start a curriculum that's focused on the basic sciences, and we continue to revisit those basic sciences while we are incorporating the clinical sciences".

Bethan Little
BSc Bioveterinary Sciences

Bethan graduated from our Bioveterinary Sciences course in 2020.

She has gone on to study Veterinary Medicine at the University of Surrey.

"We got put into situations where we had to work and think on our own and we weren’t like spoon-fed or anything, we had to come up with it all. It was really supportive".

Tomer Tsur
Biological Science

Tomer studied Biological Sciences with Animal Behaviour, Welfare and Ethics, graduating in 2020.

He went on to work as a patient care assistant at our Queen Mother Hospital and now works at our Hawkshead Campus as an animal technician.

"The course drew me as well as the name of the RVC as it is very well known in the biological science and animal welfare world".

Julia Lee
BVetMed

Julia graduated with a BVetMed from the RVC in 2021.

She has gone on to study for a master's degree at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.

"I'm an international student, so going to different countries is really important to me. The RVC has quite an extensive accreditation system that allows me to really go to different countries and actually practice in different countries, so I thought that was a very important aspect for my life".

Ashley Baker
BVetMed

Ashley graduated from the RVC in 2020.

He is now an intern at Liphook Equine Hospital after working in an local ambulatory equine practice.

"I think the rotations are really good at throwing you in and making you think about what you're doing, but at the same time having support there to make you learn and think on the spot".

Aaron Cook
BVetMed

Aaron graduated with a BVetMed from the RVC in 2021.

He has gone on to work at a tier 3 small animal hopsital on the south coast of the UK. He talks about his responsibilities now and how the RVC prepared him for his new role.

"I chose to study at the RVC because of the way the course is structured.So I'm a more of a kinesthetic learner, so I learn by doing things, so the practical parts of the course really shone through for me, including the last 18 months, which are mainly based on placement.".

Katie Mansfield
Veterinary Nursing

Katie graduated from the RVC in 2014.

As a mature student, with five children, she chose the RVC for our dedicated facilities and the ability to study flexibly.

"I was a bit worried about being twice the age of all the other people in my cohort but I needn't have been as I was never made to feel any different".
