After completing a Management Training programme in the retail industry, Sarah worked in a number of sectors including hotels & leisure, outplacement, print & design and pharmaceuticals before joining the Institute of Directors.  There she set up a centralised marketing department working to support the organisation's strategic ambitions in membership development together with product and service development and delivery.  During her time at the IoD, in addition to marketing and communications, Sarah was also responsible for management of Director Publications, a wholly owned subsidiary, and the conference & events division.  She also developed a portfolio of affinity relationships as well as a number of commercial relationships delivering sponsorship and advertising revenues to the organisation.  After this, Sarah worked as Head of Commercial Services at the British Horse Society before joining the RVC.  Sarah is an honorary life member of the Institute of Directors and the British Horse Society.
